AET Group Inc. Recognized as One of Canada’s Greenest Employers 2023
We are honoured to announce that for the 5th consecutive year, AET was recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers 2023. Now in its 16th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness. These employers have developed exceptional sustainability initiatives – and are attracting people to their organizations because of their environmental leadership. Winning employers, selected by editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, are evaluated using four main criteria:
- The unique environmental initiatives and programs they have developed;
- The extent to which they have been successful in reducing the organization’s own environmental footprint;
- The degree to which their employees are involved in these programs and whether they contribute any unique skills; and
- The extent to which these initiatives have become linked to the employer’s public identity, attracting new employees and clients to the organization.
“This year’s winners are leaders in their fields, creating unique and practical green initiatives that engage employees and address the very human desire to be good stewards of our environment” says Richard Yerema, executive editor of the project “These engaging and unique initiatives are what set the winners apart from other organizations and make their employees – and prospective employees – proud to be a part of driving tangible change in the environmental space.”
AET is committed to giving back to the people and places in which we work. Through environmental stewardship, we continually provide resources throughout our company to support local organizations and charitable events. We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that has a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. Our sustainability commitments focus on our ecological, financial, and social responsibilities that supports an improved quality of life.
AET was recognized in the 2023 competition due to our Sustainable Transportation Program, which provides subsidies for employees for the purchase of alternative and fuel-efficient vehicles (up to $2,500), our outdoor space that features a naturalized front garden that features native plant species to eliminate the need for pesticides, permeable paving in our back parking lot to reduce runoff into storm sewers — and a 15.75kWh roof-mounted solar array with eight EV charging stations. AET also directs approximately 70% of the rain and snow that falls on our property into our bioswale, the water is filtered as it moves through the bioswale before making its way to our rain garden.
