William Baird is a Waste Sector Team Leader at AET Group (AET). His environmental education includes a Bachelor of Science majoring in Ecology and Evolution from The University of Western Ontario. During his final year at The University of Western Ontario, he completed an undergraduate thesis under Dr. Jeremy McNeil, a renowned chemical ecologist. The thesis was on the effects of wood vinegar as a natural pesticide on cabbage loopers and aphids in a controlled lab setting. His education also includes a diploma in Environmental Control from Sheridan College.
William has over 7 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental management and waste auditing field. He strives for scientifically accurate results, ensuring the client is always satisfied, and keeping the work environment relaxed.
William has been a lifetime outdoors lover. He earned his Chief Scout Award through Scouts Canada and growing up was always camping, canoeing, and fishing. He is currently in the process of learning to play the guitar. He is a sports enthusiast. He runs a coed slo-pitch softball team during the summer, and plays soccer in the fall/winter. He enjoys reading about the natural environment and the interactions it has with human populations and industry. He is always trying to grow, improve, and ensure he soaks up as much knowledge as possible.
