Waste Auditor
AET is currently seeking a Waste Auditor to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a field-based role with regular travel across Ontario, throughout Canada and occasionally into the United States. You will support waste audit and diversion projects, working closely with the Waste Audit Manager, Waste Analytics and Development Manager, Project Managers and Team Leads.
Hours vary based on project demands. Early mornings, weekend work and overnight travel may be required. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors and contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes.
Compensation: This position offers an expected salary range of $50,000 – $55,000. Placement within the range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Approximately 90 percent of your time will involve fieldwork:
- Conduct on site waste audits in accordance with AET protocols and client requirements
- Collect, sort, weigh and categorize waste materials safely and accurately
- Maintain data integrity and proper labelling
- Support audits across residential single and multi-family, industrial, commercial, institutional, landfill and material recovery facilities
- Complete data entry and preliminary accuracy checks in Excel
- Assist with report preparation as required
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
- Support equipment setup, cleanup and general field and office duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Post secondary education in Environmental Studies or related field preferred
- Experience with waste or recycling audits considered an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word required

Licences and Travel:
- Valid Ontario G licence with clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to travel within Ontario and throughout Canada.
- Comfort with early mornings, overnight travel and weekend work when required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms.
- Standing, walking, twisting and handling materials for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- AET provides half mask respirator, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, reflective vest, coveralls.
- CSA approved safety boots are required to be provided by candidate and safety boot reimbursement is available after successful completion of 3-month probationary period.
