Home Flood Assessments – Saskatoon

A Home Flood Assessor guiding a homeowner on a 50-point home inspection.

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Client: City of Saskatoon

Date: 2018

After multiple extreme weather events that exposed hundreds of properties to surface flooding, and the success of the Home Flood Protection Program in Ontario, The City of Saskatoon and SGI Canada teamed up with the University of Waterloo’s Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation to sponsor 400 Home Flood Protection Assessments for Saskatoon Residents – either free of charge or subsidized through the City of Saskatoon.

AET certified assessors work with homeowners to complete an interactive 50-point visual assessment of potential sources of water entry into the home and to discuss their preventative maintenance practices. The residents are also provided with resources and information to start implementing these recommendations. With the frequency and severity of extreme weather events on the rise, AET is proud to be working with project partners to help residents safeguard properties against basement flooding.
