Ben Dunbar is an Associate and Manager of Waste Services at AET Group (AET). Ben graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental studies, completed a post-graduate certificate in Environmental Management and Assessment at Niagara College, is a Canadian Certified Environmental Professional (EP) and a LEED Accredited Professional. He joined AET in 2006 and has extensive experience coordinating and completing solid waste studies and developing waste management programs for all levels of government and IC&I sectors including: optimization studies at material recovery facilities, curbside participation studies, new program pilot studies, construction waste management and inspections, and waste assessments and analysis including GHG emissions calculations.
He has completed over 500 waste projects across Canada including most notably: Material Recovery Facility performance study for Courtice Industries; Seasonal Single Family Residential Waste Composition Study of 7 municipalities across Ontario in consultation with Waste Diversion Ontario and Stewardship Ontario; City of Langley, “BC Blue + 2” Pilot Curbside Collection Monitoring Study; Mass Balance and Recycling Composition Study at the Material Recover Facility for the City of Winnipeg; and, Metro Vancouver Demolition and Land Clearing Waste Composition Study.
Outside of work, Ben enjoys golfing, playing hockey and a good meal at a nice restaurant (preferably one that uses local ingredients!).
